BackgroundNeonatal septicemia is a systemic inflammatory response syndrome caused by infection,it is an important cause of neonatal death. It is also one of the most common critical diseases in neonatal intensive care unit, and its morbidity and mortality are relatively high.In recent years, with the people's understanding of vitamin D more and more clear,in addition to the classic regulation of calcium and phosphorus metabolism, vitamin D has found many new potential biological functions, also known as vitamin D's extra-skeletal system role, such as protection Central nervous system function,anti-tumor,prevention of cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases and diabetes.Antibacterial peptides are a group of small molecule peptides that are widely found in living organisms and have a variety of biological activities including inhibiting or killing bacterial action, antifungal action, antiviral activity, antiparasitic effect, immunomodulatory effect, inhibiting or killing Tumor cells, studies have shown that the expression of activated antimicrobial peptides need sufficient 25-(OH)-D3.In this study,25-hydroxyvitamin D and antimicrobial peptide LL-37 in children with neonatal sepsis were determined and compared with non-septic neonates, and analysis25-hydroxyvitamin D and antimicrobial peptides LL-37 levels in neonates with neonatal sepsis;analysis 25-hydroxy vitamin D and antimicrobial peptide LL-37 correlation;analysis of 25-hydroxy vitamin D levels influencing factors. Objective:Analyzed 25-hydroxy vitamin D and antibacterial peptide LL-37 levels and their correlation of neonatal septicemia, analyzed influencing factor of 25-hydroxy vitamin D.Method:The venous blood samples of 149 were collected from neonates, which includingthe 76 neonatal of septicemia(case group)and the 73 non neonatal of septicemia neonates(control group). The levels of 25-hydroxy vitamin D and antimicrobial peptide LL-37 were measured by electrochemiluminescence and ELISA.In addition, correlation of 25-hydroxy vitamin D and antibacterial peptide LL-37 are analyzed.By the way,the influence factors of25-hydroxy vitamin D are analyzed.Result:1.The level of 25-hydroxy vitamin D in neonatal sepsis(7.70 ± 4.17)ng / ml was significantly lower than in the control group(13.02 ± 6.27)ng / ml(P<0.05),and the level of antibacterial peptide LL-37(252.05 ± 184.37)pg / ml was significantly lower than in the control group(428.40 ± 290.84)pg / ml(P<0.05).2.There was a positive correlation between 25-hydroxy vitamin D and antibacterial peptide LL-37 in the case group(r = 0.323,p = 0.0004).3.Elimination of infection factor,One-way ANOVA show the influencing factors of25-hydroxy vitamin D were related with ethnicity, gestational age, birth weight, the age of the mother, education history of the mother, vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy and the birth season.4.The levels of 25-hydroxy vitamin D correlate to the birth season, vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy, gestational age by multi factor regression analysis.Conclusion:1.The levels of 25-hydroxy vitamin D and antimicrobial peptide LL-37 are lower, levels of 25-hydroxy vitamin D was positively correlated with antimicrobial peptide LL-37 in neonatal sepsis.2.The influencing factors of 25-hydroxy vitamin D are the birth season, vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy and gestational age.
