Objective: To systematic review the accuracy of C-reactive proteinand procalcitonin in early diagnosis of neonatal septicemia. Methods: Cochrane systematic evaluation was used to search throughPubMed, Cochrane Library, CMCC, CNKI for studies regarding CRP andPCT in the diagnosis of neonatal septicemia. Data were extracted andanalyzed using software MetaDisc1.4.Results: In total,9relevant studies were searched. The thresholdeffects was not found. However, heterogeneity was found by other reasons.Pooled accuracy indicator like sensitivity, specificity of CRP and PCT inthe study were0.818vs0.859,0.755vs0.916, respectively. The area undersummary receiver operating characteristics curve were0.8814vs0.9523;and Q index were0.8119vs0.8936for CRP and PCT, respectively. Conclusions: With the high sensitivity, CRP and PCT both areimportant indicators in the diagnosis of neonatal septicemia. Combineddetermination of CRP and PCT can increase the accuracy of diagnosis.
