Vector control builds on the basic concepte of integrated vector management,by reducing the number and density of vector to effectively reduce the incidence of vector-borne diseases,to provide a healthy,safe and comfortable working and living environment for the people.At present,the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases in China there are two main means,the one is through the vector control,the second is through the susceptible population vaccination.Vector control is an important measure for the prevention of vector-borne diseases in China,especially for vector-borne diseases that can not be prevented by vaccines.Therefore,the control of vector density at the level of insufficient damage is the best-proven or the only available preventive measure against most vector-borne diseases.In 2014,Foshan City,dengue fever reported cases reached a record high,seriously affecting the public health and social stability,has been defined as sudden public health events.The outbreak of the epidemic,showing the government in the vector and vector-borne diseases prevention and control there are many loopholes and deficiencies.How to further improve the vector control system has become an urgent task in the government work.Based on the theory of infectious diseases,risk management theory and emergency management theory,this paper introduces the basic concept and strategy of vector control in China.Through the analysis of the current situation of prevention and control of vector control and its related infectious diseases in Foshan City in recent years,it is pointed out that there are some deficiencies in the prevention and control of vector in the city,System of market-oriented operation,vector control technology support system,sudden vector-borne diseases incident emergency management system and mechanism have not really adapt to the current vector control and their infectious disease prevention and control needs.We need to draw on the experience of developed countries and regions in vector control,and put forward the countermeasures and suggestions to optimize the vector control system in Foshan.
