Background: The mosquitos, flies and rats are important vectors, which could transmit infectious diseases, such as malria, dengue fever, etc. They do great harm to the human health and lives. The vector control is to reduce population of vectors, the risk of vectors to human beings was held at an acceptable level by reducing the probability of contact with the vectors. The single control strategy could not offer enough protection against vectors, the strategy of integrated vector control was taken, including environmental modification, physical prevention, toxicans application, biological control, law about vector control and genetic alteration of vectors. Objective: To investigate the mosquitos, flies and rats, detect pathogens in the vectors and take integrated vector control in the university. Methods: The mosquitos, flies and rats in the university would be investigated by epidemiological methods. The dengue virus was detected through RT-PCR, and the SARS-CoV virus was screened by nested PCR. According to the results, the integrated vector control was taken. Results: The distribution of the mosquitos, flies and rats in the university was known, the dengue virus was not detected in the mosquitos, and the SARS-CoV virus was not screened in the rats. Thepopulations of vectors was reduced by taking the integrated vectorcontrol. Conclusion: The epidemiological investigations about vectors wasmade and the integrated vector control was taken.
