Abstract/Summary:
Objective:To search Median nerve of upper limb by high frequency ultrasound and master the whole upper extremity of median nerve of the median nerve cross-sectional area, easy identification of the anatomical sites selected ultrasound measurement of the median nerve(cross-sectional area,CSA)and to explore its relationship with the surrounding tissue,to provide normal reference range and clinical diagnosis of peripheral nerve diseases and provide the basis. Methods:In 240 healthy volunteers along the median nerve shape by using high-frequency ultrasound, were measured at 5 sites(at the carpal tunnel rasceta),forearm midpoint, median nerve passes through the pronator teres, humeral supracondylar humerus and at the midpoint of the CSA,each site measurements were repeated 3 times and take the average value, and to analyze the correlation between CSA and height and weight. Results:High frequency ultrasound showed normal median nerve cross section is a screen like low echo images, presented in different parts were round, oval or triangular, longitudinal section into bunches of low echo is intermittent banded echo segmentation.Median nerve at these five loci were(10.67±0.94)mm~2,(10.25±0.61)mm~2,(9.83±0.50)mm~2,(11.44±0.43)mm~2,and(11.24±0.56)mm~2.3.Upper limbs compared with the median nerve at the site of a CSA difference in median nerve median nerve passes through the pronator teres muscle, there was statistical significance between humeral supracondylar humerus and the midpoint between men and women. Conclusions:The median nerve in the high-frequency ultrasound probe and the whole process, the display rate is 100%;there are differences in different parts of the normal value and ultrasonic slightly, the difference was statistically significant;the median nerve in the upper arm of the CSA section of the thick, carpal tunnel at the forearm of the finest.
