Objective:To evaluate meibomian gland dysfunction after Phacoemulsification surgery, and guide cataract doctors focus on Patients with PostoPerative visual quality at the same time. Methods:A PersPective,self-controlled clinical trial was conducted.Fiftysix eyes of 56 Patients with MGD underwent Phacoemulsification and were evaluated the OSDI,meibograPhy score, lid margin abnormalities,Schirmer test, tear film break-uP time(BUT)at PreoPeratively and PostoPeratively 2wk?1 month and 3 months. Results: The OSDI scores are worse at 2week,1 month and 3 months PostoPeratively(P<0.001,P<0.001 and P<0.001,resPectively).MeibograPhy score significantly increase(P=0.020?P<0.001 and P<0.001,resPectively).Lid margin abnormalities significantly increase(P=0.007 ? P<0.001 and P<0.001,resPectively),and TBUT decrease PostoPeratively(P=0.004,P<0.001 and P<0.001,resPectively).However,the Schirmer test does not change significantly PostoPeratively(all P values >0.05).Conclusion:The Patients who have cataract with MGD,meibomian gland function may be aggravated after Phacoemulsification surgery, doctors should focus on the meibomian gland and give Personalized treatment oPtions at the same time. Given intervention and Personalized treatment when necessary. In order to alleviate the Patients PostoPerative discomfort,imProve visual quality.
