Purpose:The aim of this study was to analyze the value of Mimics aided preoperative planning in treating Allman type Ic Clavicular Fractures? Methods:There were 24 patients with Allman Ic clavicular fracture in this study, whom were treated at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University during January01 to December 31 in 2016.They were randomly divided into experimental group(14cases)and control group(10 cases)according to the coin flipping method. The experimental group used Mimics software to assist in the preoperative planning and then performed surgery, and the control group used the traditional method to establish a preoperative planning and then performed surgery. Both of groups were followed and datas were collected. The main observations of the study were the operation time, the incidence of intraoperative complications, the time of fracture healing, and the incidence of postoperative complications.Secondary observations were:ConstantMurly scores at 3rd month and 6th month after surgery. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to analyze the operative time, fracture healing time and postoperative functional scores of the two groups. The incidence of intraoperative and postoperative complications were analyzed by Fisher probabilities test in 2×2 table data, and their statistical significance was analyzed. Results:The general data of patients were not statistically different and averaged for(28.0±0.7)weeks of follow-up.The main observations:(1)Operation time: The average operation time was(39.3±1.7)minutes in the experimental group,and(47.2±3.7)minutes in the control group. The difference in operation time was statistically significant between the two groups(p<0.05).(2)Incidence of intraoperative complications: No major vascular, neurological, and pulmonary complications occurred in the experimental group and the control group.(3)Fracturehealing time: The average healing time of the experimental group was(14.7±2.0)weeks and(15.6±4.8)weeks in the control group. There was no significant difference in fracture healing time between the two groups(p>0.05).(4)The incidence of postoperative complications: There were 2 complications and the incidence of it was14.3% in the experimental group. There were 3 complications and the incidence of it was 30.0% in the control group, there was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups(p>0.05)Secondary observations:(1)Constant-Murly score at 3rd month after surgery:The Constant-Murly score was(89.4±5.2)points in the experimental group.,and(85.7±4.5)points in the control group at 3th month after operation. The difference of them was statistically significant between the two groups(p<0.05);(2)Constant-Murly score at 6th month after operation:The Constant-Murly score was(96.5±1.6)points in the experimental group at6 th month after the operation,and(93.2±3.0)points in the control group at 6th month after operation. The difference of them was statistically significant between the two groups(p<0.05);.Conclusion:Mimics aided preoperative planning in treating Allman type Ic clavicular fractures is superior in shortening the operation time and improving postoperative function. It is a useful digital preoperative planning tool that is worthy of clinical use.
