TRIM26 is a member of the super-large protein TRIM family, which involved in numerous cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, development, apoptosis, transcriptional regulation, signal transduction, inflammatory immunity, and tumorigenesis. At present, the study of TRIM26 mainly focus on the anti-virus innate immune response, and little was known about its function in tumors.TRIM26 has been reported that acted as a tumor suppressor in liver cancer. However,we found that TRIM26 may be a oncongene in non-small cell lung cancer?NSCLC?in our present study.we demonstrated that TRIM26 protein is overexpression in NSCLC cell lines, and knocking down of TRIM26 by specific siRNA significantly inhibited the cell proliferation, arrested cell cycle at G0/G1 check point, and promoted apoptosis in NCI-H1299 cells. At the same time, knocked down TRIM26 inhibited migration in NCI-H1299 cell and A549 cell.Interferon Regulatory Factor 3?IRF3?is an important tumor suppressor,we further found that TRIM26 can interact with IRF3 in NCI-H1299 cells, decreasing the stablity of IRF3.This study describes the role of TRIM26 in NSCLC and provides a possible target for molecular targeted therapy of lung cancer.
