Objective:The purposes of this study were to provide a new idea for the Forensic dentistry by measuring and analyzing the parameters of the college students in xinjiang Han and Uygur palatal rugae pattern.Methods:Collected 200 cases of aged 18 to 25 years old Han and Uygur college students' palatal rugae model.According to the morphological parameters such as the shape,length and position distribution of the palatal rugae pattern,the palatal rugae pattern code units(PRPCU).then it was converted into a palatal rugae quick response(QR)by using the online bar code generator and finally a barcode scanner was used to scan the bar code to analyze the specificity of the palate rugae.Results: In 200 cases of palatal rugae model,There was no complete consistency between individuals.In Han and Uygur subjects,the most common shapes was straight,followed by curve,wavy and ring.The distribution of different shapes between Han and Uygur students was statistically significant(X2=23.49,P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between different lengths.The result of pairwise comparison showed that the straight and wavy shapes had statistical significance between different ethnic groups(P<0.0125),but there was no statistical difference between different lengths.The differences of palatal rugae shapes between different genders of the Han nationality were statistically significant(X2=20.94,P<0.05),but the lengths had no statistical difference between different genders.The result of pairwise comparison showed that straight and curve shapes had statistical significance(P<0.0125).,but there was no statistical difference between the different sex lengths.The distribution of the lengths and shapes of palatal rugae in different genders of uygur were statistically significant(X2=16.62,P<0.05.X2=10.7,P<0.05).The result of pairwise comparison showed that the straight shape had statistical significance between different genders(P<0.0125),and the primary palatal rugae and secondary palatal rugae had statistical significance between different genders in the Uygur nationality(P<0.0167).Conclusion:Each individual palate rugae are unique,and the digital recording method of palatal rugae can be used for individual identification,which provides a reference and theoretical basis for the field of forensic science in China.
