BackgroundSj?gren's syndrome(SS)is one of the autoimmune diseases with high incidence, include primary Sj?gren's syndrome and secondary Sj?gren's syndrome. This disease can infringe on other multi-system damage, thus presenting complex and diverse clinical manifestations.SS nervous system lesions are not uncommon in clinic, just because some doctor for some nervous system symptoms(such as the hidden cognitive impairment, autonomic nervous system symptoms insufficient understanding),leading to a high sensitivity of diagnosed. Therefore,it is very important to seek other experimental indicators with diagnostic value.ObjectiveTo investigate the serum level of N-methl-D-aspartame receptor(NMDAR)in patients with cognitive dysfunction of Sj?gren's syndrome(SS)and its clinical significance.MethodsThe levels of NMDAR in blood samples from 42 patients with cognitive dysfunction of SS,30 case with normal cognitive function of SS,30 healthy controls were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and the reports of Mini-mental State Examination(MMSE)and the laboratory indexes were recorded in those groups, then these index were measured again when patients were treated for 3 weeks.Results1.The level of NMDAR in the patients with cognitive dysfunction of the SS group(171.16±130.29)was higher than those with normal cognitive function of SS group(101.39±70.59),the healthy controls(92.69±67.25),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.The level of NMDAR before were higher than those after the treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(t=1.925,P<0.05).3.The serum levels of NMDR in the patients with cognitive dysfunction of the SS were negatively correlated with the intelligent score(r=-0.534,P<0.05).4.the patients with cognitive dysfunction of the SS was related to the degree of white matter damage.5.The level of NMDAR in the patients with cognitive dysfunction of the SS group(620.25±377.63)was higher than those with normal cognitive function of SS group(419.13±167.59),the healthy controls(351.23±121.34),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionThe NMDAR may be used as a clinical of cognitive dysfunction in patients with SS.
