ObjectiveThis study was to describe the level of Uncertainty in Illness in population with HUA,to explore the influence factors of Uncertainty in Illness,to confirm the situation of Social Support and Medical Copy Methods,to analysis the relationships between the Uncertainty in Illness and Social Support and Medical Copy Methods, and in order to reduce the levels of Uncertainty in Illness in population with HUA,to improve the quality life of patients and provide the theoretical reference.MethodsBy using the method of convenience sampling from June 2016 to September 2017,we selected 496 population with HUA and made and handedoutquestionnaires, suchastheGeneralinformation questionnaire,Mishel uncertainty in illness scale for adults,Social support raring scale,Medical copy method questionnaire in Liaoning Province,Anhui Province and Jiangsu Province. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis,one-way ANOVA,independent sample t-test,Pearson correlation analysis and Multiple stepwise regression of SPSS 17.0 statistical software package. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Results1.The total score of Uncertainty in Illness with average score of95.79±9.57 in population with HUA.The Uncertainty in Illness state was at medium levels for 85.19%of them. The scores of the four dimensions:uncertainty, complexity, inconsistencyand unpredictability were 37.86±5.18,20.56±1.98,20.96±2.91,16.41±1.94respectively.2.The main influence factors of Uncertainty inIllness in population with HUA were age,BMI,residential pattern, level of education, working status, health care pattern, level of incomes, drinking, smoking, gout and complications;while the difference was statistically significant in population with HUA of gender, sitting status and primary or not.3.Thescoresofsocialsupportofpopulationwith HUA(39.04±10.45)was higher than the national norm, and the difference was statistically significant(t=9.175,P<0.01).The social support of population with HUA was negatively associated with the Uncertainty in Illness and its four dimensions(r=-0.602~-0.257,P<0.01).The scores of objective support dimension of population with HUA was higher than the national norm, and the difference was statistically significant(t=13.108,P<0.01).The scores of objective support dimension of population with HUA was negatively associated withtheUncertaintyinIllnessanditsfourdimensions(r=-0.585~-0.227,P<0.01).4.Thescoresoftheyielddimensionofpopulationwith HUA(8.20±2.45)was lower than the national norm, and the difference wasstatisticallysignificant(t=-5.354,P<0.01),andtheyield dimension was positively associated with the Uncertainty in Illness and its four dimensions(r=0.234~0.558,P<0.01).The scores of the faced dimension of population with HUA was lower than the national norm, and the difference was not statistically significant(t=-0.958,P=0.338),and the faced dimension was negatively associated with the Uncertainty in Illness(r=-0.495,P<0.01).The scores of the avoidance dimension of population with HUA was higher than the national norm, and the difference was statistically significant(t=8.453,P<0.01),and theavoidancedimensionwasnegativelyassociatedwiththe Uncertainty in Illness(r=-0.218,P<0.01).5.Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that gout, level of education, complications, level of incomes, yield dimension, objective support and age were entered model of Uncertainty in Illness of population with HUA(F=167.093,P<0.01,Adjusted R~2=0.685).Conclusions1.The Uncertainty in Illness state was at medium level of population with HUA.The uncertainty in illness came from the inability to predict the development and return of the disease, and to determine the symptoms and treatment of the disease.2.The main influence factors of Uncertainty inIllness in population with HUA were gout, level of education, complications, level of incomes, yield dimension, objective support and age.3.So that doctor, nurse and community health workers adopted effective health education path and nursing strategies to fully consider gout, level of education, income level, age;meanwhile they should pay attention to the types and severity of complications, and provide objective support, take positive coping styles and avoid the yield response in order to reduce the Uncertainty in Illness and improve the life quality of patients.
