Annonaceae plants are rich in anti-tumor active chemical components and are concerned by scholars in the world.Artabotrys belong to the family of Annonaceae,and there are about 100 species in the world.They are found in tropical and subtropical regions.There are 4 species in China,which grows mainly in the southwest to southeast.Modern phytochemical studies have shown that this genus contains alkaloids,terpenoids,cyclohexenes,flavonoids,and lignans and other structural types of compounds.Modern pharmacological studies have shown that this genus has a wide range of biological activities.Such as anti-tumor,antibacterial,anti-malaria and insecticidal activity.Artabotrys hainanensis R.E.Fries is a plant belonging to the genus of Artabotrys and is a unique plant in Hainan.In previous studies,we have found that the 90%ethanol extract of the stems and leaves of A.hainanensis has a significant anti-tumor activity.Therefore,this study aimed at the chemical components of the stems and leaves of Artabotrys hainanensis R.E.Fries and its anti-tumor activity was systematically studied.In this study,Artabotrys hainanensis R.E.Fries were used as the research object,and the physicochemical properties and mass spectrometry(HR-ESI-MS)of the compounds were used by means of silica gel column chromatography,reversed-phase silica gel column chromatography and preparative HPLC.Modern spectroscopy techniques such as spectroscopy,ultraviolet spectroscopy,and nuclear magnetic resonance(1H-NMR,13C-NMR,DEPT,HMBC,HMQC,1H-1HCOSY,and ROESY),were isolated and identified from 90%ethanol extracts from the branches 30 compounds.They are artahainanol A(1),flexuvarol B(2),uvamalol C(3),flexuvarol A(4),ferrudio(5),(-)1,6-desoxypipoxide(6),artapilosol A(7),litseachromolaevane A(8),(4R,5R,7R)-1(10)-spirovetiven-11-ol-2-one(9),spathulenol(10),liguducin A(11),alpinenone(12),homalomenol C(13),alismoxide(14),10?-hydroxyisodauc-6-en-14-al(15),cryptomeridiol(16),4,10-epi-5?-hydroxydihydroeudesmol(17),eudesm-4(14)-ene-3?,11-diol(18),?-eudesmol(19),11-hydroxy-valenc-1(10)-en-2-one(20),oplodiol(21),amorph-4-en-10?-ol(22),10?,15-hydroxy-?-cadinol(23),1?-hydroxy-4(15),5E,10(14)-germacratriene(24),4-hydroxy-4,7-dimethyl-1-tetralone(25),dihydroactinidiolide(26),2-methoxybenzyl benzoate(27),benzyl benzoate(28),(9E,11Z)14-hydroxyoctadecan-9,11-dienoic acid(29),5-hydroxy-7,8-dimethoxy flavanone(30).Compounds 1-7 are cyclohexene compounds,compounds 8-26 are sesquiterpene compounds,compounds 27 and 28 are phenolic compounds,compound 29 is a fatty acid compound,and compound 30 is a flavonoid compound.Compound 1 is a new compound.Compounds 1-6,8-9,11-18,and 20-30 are isolated from the genus of Artabotrys for the first time.All compounds are isolated from the Artabotrys hainanensis R.E.Fries for the first time.The antitumor activity of some of the isolated compounds was evaluated.The results showed that the compounds(1-4)are effective for five common human tumor cell lines(human leukemia tumor cell line HL-60,human hepatoma cell SMMC-7721,and human lung cancer cell A-549,human colon cancer cell SW480 and human breast cancer cell MCF-7)all showed better antitumor activity with IC50 values of 2.68-18.32 ?M.The antitumor activities of the new compound 1 is the most significant.The antitumor activities of the compound(1-4)is better than the positive control cisplatin except the antitumor activity of human leukemia tumor cell line(HL-60).
