The Effect Of Xiang-Sha-Liu-Jun-Zi-Tang On Immune Function Of Patients With Advanced Gastric Cancer

Purpose:This study is conducted to evaluate the effect of Xiang-Sha-Lin-Jun-Zi-Tang on immunity,quality of life(QOL)and symptoms in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)through analyzing the levels of blood index of immunity,the score of QOL and TCM smptoms before and after applying Xiang-Sha-Lin-Jun-Zi-Tang to treat patients with advanced gastric canceMethods:40 patients who have been diagnosed with gastric cancer of ?/? stage histopathologically were randomly divided into study group(n-21)and control group(n=19).Patients in control group received regular western therapy,while patients in study group received Xiang-Sha-Lin-Jun-Zi granules combined with regular western therapy.The course of treatment were both 4 weeks.Then to observe and analyze the levels of T lymphocyte subsets,cell factors and the the score of QOL and TCM smptoms before and after therapy.Results:1.After treatment,the proportions of CD3 +,CD4 +,CD 16 + lymphocyte subsets increased of patients in study group who received Xiang-Sha-Lin-Jun-Zi granules combined with regular western therapy,and the disparities were statistically significant(P<0.05).The CD4 +/CD8 +ratio of patients in study group was higher than those in control group(P<0.05),while the proportion of CD8 + patients in study group was lower than patients in control group(P,0.05).2.The level of TNF-a of patients in study group remarkably increased after treatment(P?0.01),while the level of IL-6 decreased(P?0.05).After treatment,the level of IL-2 of patients in study group was higher than patients in control group(P?0.05),and the level of IL-10 of patients in study group was lower than patients in control group(P?0.05).The levels of IFN-??TNF-? of patients in study group only showed rise trend compared with patients in control group,as well as the decline trend of IL-6?TGF-?.3.In terms of quality of life score,the scores in fields of body flunction,overall state were remarkably increased and the score in field of symtoms was obviously decreased after treatment for patients in study group(P?0.01).The disparities between two groups after treatment were all statistically significant(P?0.05).4.The integral of TCM symptoms of patients in study group was significantly decreased after treatment(P?0.01).The disparity between two groups after treatment was also statistically significant(P?0.01).Conclusion:Xiang-Sha-Lin-Jun-Zi-Tang can improve the immune function of patients with advanced gastric cancer through modulation proportions of lymphocyte subsets,quantities of related cell factors.In terms of improving QOL and relieving symptoms of TCM,patients received Xiang-Sha-Lin-Jun-Zi granules combined with regular western therapy showed an obvious advantage over the patients who received regular western therapy merely.
