The Improved Effection Of The Dampness And Phlegm Prescription To The Blood Pressure?Uric Acid And Arterial Function Of The Patients Who Have Hypertension With Complicated With Hyperuricemia

Objectives:This study was designed to investigate the mechanism of Dampness and Phlegm Prescription in the treatment of hypertensive patients complicated with hyperuricemia via observing its effects on the curative effect of TCM symptom,blood pressure,blood uric acid,brachial artery flow-mediated vasodilation(FMD),and pulse wave velocity(PWV),and to evaluate its synergistic anti-hypertension and anti-uric acid effects as well as the improving effect on arterial function in these patients.Methods:Sixty hypertensive patients complicated with hyperuricemia who were diagnosed as vertigo(excessive phlegm-dampness syndrome)by TCM at the outpatient department of the Affiliated Hospital of Henan Provincial Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and randomly divided into the TCM " Dampness and Phlegm" treatment group and the Western medicine control group at a ratio of 1:1 with 30 cases in each.Patients in both groups were given basic medication,i.e.,oral levamlodipinebesylate tablet(2.5mg),1tablet daily,and those in the treatment group were given extra Dampness and Phlegm Prescription for 8 weeks.At the end of 8 weeks,the curative effect of the TCM symptoms,blood pressure,blood uric acid,FMD,and PWV were observed and compared.Results:Blood pressure,blood uric acid level,and PWV were reduced and FMD was increased after treatment compared with that before treatment in both groups,and the improvement of the treatment group was superior to the control group with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);the total effective rate of TCM syndrome of the treatment group was 90.00%,and that of the control group was 63.33%,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The results of the study indicated that Dampness and Phlegm Prescription improves the curative effect of the TCM symptoms,blood pressure,blood uric acid,FMD and PWV in hypertensive patients complicated with hyperuricemia.
