Objective: Based on the retrospective analysis of 100 cases of Viral Encephalitis in Traditional Chinese Medicine symptoms and signs, summarize the common TCM Syndromes of Viral encephalitis, and explore the characteristics of TCM syndromes..Methods:(1)By consulting the relevant information collected in viral encephalitis, combining with the opinions of experts,we have made "the registration table of TCM Syndromes of viral encephalitis"(2)We have screened the case and then included in the case, filled out the "viral encephalitis TCM syndrome information registration form" to collect symptoms of Chinese medicine, signs, four clinics and cerebrospinal fluid biochemical routine results and other information.(3)Finally,we have summarized the clinical syndromes of viral encephalitis by analyzing the frequency and cluster analysis of symptoms and signs.Results:(1)A total of 100 cases of viral encephalitis were collected, the ratio of male to female was 1: 1.22,Most of the patients were moderately ill;about 50.0% of patients from the city, followed by rural.(2)Viral encephalitis disease progress rapidly, the patient generally go to the hospital for treatment after the onset of 1-3 days, the disease can be only slightly early exogenous symptoms, which may lead to some patients to extend the time;(3)The majority of the viral encephalitis virus was Coxsackie virus, followed by EB virus, the two accounted for 69%.(4)Based on the TCM symptoms and signs and tongue pulse information clustering analysis summed up: Syndrome involving Wei Qi simultaeously,Syndrome involving Qi Ying simultaeously,Syndrome involving Ying Xue simultaeously,Syndrome of lingering heat and Deficiency of Qi and Yin.Syndrome involving Wei Qi simultaeously(39.0%)were the most, followed were Syndrome involving Qi Ying simultaeously(24.0%),then were Syndrome involving Ying Xue simultaeously(15.0%),Syndrome of lingering heat(11.0%)and Deficiency of Qi and Yin(11.0%)at least.(5)At the onset of 0-3 days,Syndrome involving Wei Qi simultaeously were the highest, followed by Syndrome involving Qi Ying simultaneously and Deficiency of Qi and Yin,and the serious Syndrome involving Ying Xue simultaeously and Syndrome of lingering heat at least. The onset of 4-10 days,Syndrome involving Ying Xue were the highest, followed by Syndrome of lingering heat and Deficiency of Qi and Yin.Conclusion: The main clinical symptoms of viral encephalitis were fever, headache, chills, nausea, irritability, etc.;the main tongue is red tongue, yellow fur, thin fur, greasy fur, pulse number, basically reflects the characteristics of syndrome of viral encephalitis.Viral encephalitis syndrome types are mainly: Syndrome involving Wei Qi simultaeously,Syndrome involving Qi Ying simultaeously,Syndrome involving Ying Xue simultaeously,Syndrome of lingering heat and Deficiency of Qi and Yin.Syndrome involving Wei Qi simultaeously were the most, followed were Syndrome involving Qi Ying simultaeously, then were Syndrome involving Ying Xue simultaneously,Syndrome of lingering heat and Deficiency of Qi and Yin at least.(5)At the onset of 0-3 days,Syndrome involving Wei Qi simultaeously were the highest, followed by Syndrome involving Qi Ying simultaneously and Deficiency of Qi and Yin,and the serious Syndrome involving Ying Xue simultaeously and Syndrome of lingering heat at least. The onset of 4-10 days,Syndrome involving Ying Xue were the highest, followed by Syndrome of lingering heat and Deficiency of Qi and Yin.According to the theory of epidemic febrile disease, viral encephalitis develops from external to internal.
