Objective To observe the clinical effects and advantage of electroacupuncture at 3-Shoulder acupoints combined with exercise therapy on shoulder pain after stroke.To seek for a kind of more convenient and effective for comprehensive treatment of post-stroke shoulder pain.Methods 66 patients with shoulder pain after stroke were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group.33 cases in the observation group were given therapy combined electroacupuncture at 3-Shoulderacupoints with exercise therapy,while the other 33 cases in control were only given exercise therapy.The patients in both groups were given the basic treatment and observed by 4 weeks.Before and after treatment,all patients were comprehensive evaluated within and between groups:The upper limb function was evaluated by upper extremity Fugl-Meyer assessment scale and range of shoulder motion;the visual analogue scale(VAS)was for pain and the barthel index(BI)was for ability of daily living.The clinical efficacy scores were compared with the effectiveness of treatment between the two groups of patients.Results After treatment,there were significant differences in upper extremity Fugl-Meyer score.shoulder motion score?VAS score and BI score(P<0.05);The clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared,71.88%in the control group and 93.55%in the observation group which was higher with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The electroacupuncture at 3-Shoulder acupoints combined with exercise therapy can significantly relieve the symptoms of shoulder pain after stroke.The electroacupuncture at 3-Shoulder acupoints has positive synergistic effect on the treatment of hemiplegic shoulder pain and improvement of upper limb function with exercise therapy.
