Objective To determine the serum levels of fibroblast growth fctor and Klotho of aged patients with osteoporosis. Methods:On the basis of the clinical results of imageological examination,46 aged osteoporosis patients(O group)and 30 healthy individuals(C group)were enrolled in the present study.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was respectively applied to detect the serum levels of FGF21、FGF23、α-Klotho and β-Klotho.Moreover,statistical analysis of Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlationship between T value of dual energy X-ray absorptionmetry and FGF,as well as Klotho. Results : Serum level of FGF21 in O group showed no significantly statistical difference as compared with C group(P > 0.05),while it displayed a slighter decrease.Compared with C group, patients in O group demonstrated a significant increase of FGF23,and that serum levels of α-Klotho and β-Klotho both significantly down-regulated(P < 0.05 or 0.01);Furthermore,Pearson analysis suggested that T value of bone mineral density was negatively correlated with serum FGF23 level, and negatively correlated with both serum levels of α-Klotho and β-Klotho(P < 0.05 or 0.01).Conclusion:Abnormal serum FGF23,α-Kloth and β-Klotho levels are both highly associated with the pathogenesis of osteoporosis, which could be used as promising biomarkers for auxiliary diagnosis of osteoporosis.
