Objective :Investigate esophageal tension-extension technique in children with type I esophageal atresia of curative effect and clinical application value. Methods :To review and reflect on the feasibility of the tension-extension technique in the treatment through six cases of type I CEA in Jiangxi Children's Hospital from June2014 and September 2016.Six cases were analyzed, three male patients and three female patients.Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy was performed on each patient after birth. The patients were diagnosed with type I CEA through esophagogram and bronchoscopy.Since the distances between patients' upper and lower esophageal ends were still wider than four centrums three months after births, the thoracoscopic tension-extension treatment was conducted on the patients' upper and lower esophageal ends. Results :In 6 cases, patients were under the thoracoscope esophagus end to end anastomosis 36 days,42 days,69 days,28 days,55 days and 64 days after the treatment.one patient presented stoma fistula and was healed through the conservative treatment in 17 days. All the children cured and leaved hospital. In the post-surgery follow-ups from 2 months to 23 months,Three patients presented anastomotic stenosis and were treated with 1 to 5 times of esophagectasis. Conclusions :The tension-extension technique is proven to be effective in treating type I CEA.This treatment avoids thoracic surgery and achieves the anastomotica of esophagus ends. The expanded application of the treatment is recommended.
