Comparative Study On The Effect Of Simethicone And Dimeticone In Colonoscopy

Objective: To compare the effects that simeticone and dimeticone have on the cleanliness and the bubble amount in the intestine during colonoscopy.Methods: 178 patients are selected and divided into three groups at ramdom(Comparison group,Simeticone group and Dimeticone group).Comparison group: Patients in this group begin to take two boxes of Polyethylene Glycol Electrolytes Powder mixed with 2000 ml water four hours earlier before colonoscopy.They need to take 250 ml every 15 minutes and take them in two hours.Simeticone group: On the basis of Comparison group,patients in this group need to take 15 ml simeticone three hours earlier before colonoscopy.Dimeticone group: On the basis of Comparison group,patients in this group need to take 15 ml dimeticone three hours earlier before colonoscopy.Results: Among the three groups,there are no statictic differences of the cleanliness in the intestine(P>0.05);Among the three groups,there are statictic differences of the bubble amount due to the fact that the scores of the bubble amount in Simeticone group and Dimeticone group are higher than that in Comparison group(P<0.05).Between Simeticone group and Dimeticone group,there is statictic difference of the bubble amount due to the fact that the score of the bubble amount in Simeticone group is higher than that in Dimeticone group(P<0.05);Among the three groups,the time of colonoscopy examination in Simeticone group and Dimeticone group is shorter than that in Comparison group and the satisfaction of the doctors' operation in Simeticone group and Dimeticone group is higher than that in Comparison group.Therefore,there are statictic differences(P<0.05);Among the three groups,there are no statictic differences of the incidence of adverse events(P>0.05);Among the three groups,there are no statictic differences of the polyp detection rate(>0.5cm)and the ADR(P>0.05).There are statictic differences of the polyp detection rate(? 0.5cm)in that the polyp detection rate in Simeticone group and Dimeticone group is higher than that in Comparison group(P<0.05).Conclusion: The bubble amount in the intestine can be reduced if simeticone and dimeticone are taken before colonoscopy.And in this aspect,simeticone is superior to dimeticone.However,they can't improve the cleanliness of the intestine;If simeticone and dimeticone are taken before colonoscopy,the polyp detection rate(?0.5cm)can be raised,but ADR the polyp detection rate(>0.5cm)can't be raised;If simeticone and dimeticone are taken before colonoscopy,the time of colonoscopy examination can be shortened and the satisfaction of the doctors' operation can be improved;It is possible that the effects of defoaming can be better if simeticone is selected as the defoaming agent.
