Tongue diagnosis is an important part of tradition Chinese medical inspection,which plays a vital role in the theoretical system of TCM and clinical diagnosis.At present,the objective research on tongue diagnosis of TCM based on 2D images fails to offer detailed information such as the thickness of coating on the tongue,crack length of the tongue and the depth of the tooth mark and so on.To resolve this problem,according to the principle of structured-light scanning measurement,an imaging system of color 3D tongue diagnosis based on imaging ray tracking is designed and developed to obtain the color 3D data of up and down surface of the tongue integrally and accurately.The major contributions and key techniques are composed of the following three parts:1.An imaging system of color 3D tongue diagnosis is designed using two line lasers and a color CCD camera.Two lasers placed on both sides of the camera are used to acquire color 3D data of the up and down surface of the tongue respectively.According to measurement range,measurement speed and measurement precision,the devices in the system are chosen reasonably.2.Through analyzing and comparing to various mathematical models of structured-light scanning measurement,a 3D measurement model based on imaging ray tracking is proposed to ensure the 3D measurement accuracy.A color rendering model based on imaging ray tracking is built,which adopts double three interpolation method to achieve color rending quickly and accurately.The calibration method of the measurement model based on imaging ray tracking is studied,and the circle pattern is used to calibrate it.3.An imaging system of color 3D tongue diagnosis is developed.Measurements on some models of coating on the tongue and people with different characteristics of tongue surface are performed,which achieve integral and accurate results of color information.
