Digital Tongue Map Color Management Studies

Tongue diagnosis,as a common diagnostic method in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), is the important content of observation diagnosis in TCM. It is the summarization of clinic experiences. With the development of technology of computer and image analysis, many researches have been made and some equipments or softwares have been worked out to describe and analyze the tongue color. These researches availed to the objectivity and standardization of tongue diagnosis. But due to some reasons, the analysis systerms of tongue diagnosis had not be used in clinic abroadly.Digital camera is the main equipment to collect tongue pictures. The prevalence of digital camera make the collection of tongue picture more conveniency. The color of tongue picture which be captured by digital camera would be distortional, so the color correction is a breakthrough. In this research,we corrected the color of tongue pictures with ICC Profile, and discussed the color correction method of tongue picture according to the effect of color correction.1 The study of color correction of tongue picture captured under the standard lampThe same color of tongue will looks different under different lamp or daylight of different times. Committee of International Emblaze(CIE) regulated the standard lamps in chromatology, and suggested using D₆₅ take place of daylight to accelerate the standardization of chromatology. So, we select the D₆₅ as the standard lanp when we capture tongue picture.1.1 Evaluate the effect of color correction of color-mark picture captured under the standard lampIn this study, we established digital camera's ICC Profile under the D₆₅ by PULSE^TM ColorElite and ColorChecker24. Then, we corrected the color of digital pictures captured under the D₆₅ with the established ICC Profile, and calculated the picture's chromatic aberration ΔE between the pictures before correction, after correction and standard picture. The result revealed that the averageAE of picture before correction is 18.10, the averageΔE of picture after correction is 0.67. The study proved that the digital camera's ICC Profile can correct the color of pictures captured under the D₆₅ effectively.1.2 Evaluate the effect of color correction of tongue color picture captured under the standard lampThe color correction effects of different colors are different.
