Objective:To investigate the effect of ethanol on the oxidized low density lipoprotein and atherosclerosis in rats fed with high fat diet.In this study, through the establishment of rat model of ethanol and high-fat diet, and the effects of alcohol on oxidative modification of low density lipoprotein,high-sensitivity C reactive protein and aortic tissue structure change, then analysis the related possible mechanism. Methods:Sixteen 6-week-old male SD rats feed with high fat diet, theses 20 rats were randomly divided in to control group and ethanol group. The control group were intragastric administration using 1ml·100g-1·d-1 with distilled water once a day.The ethanolgroupwereintragastricadministrationusingdistilled1ml·100g-1·d-1 with 50%ethanol once a day,and freely drink 10%ethanol.Total cholesterol?TC?,triglyceride?TG?,high density lipoprotein?HDL?,low density lipoprotein?LDL?,oxidized low density lipoprotein?ox-LDL?and high sensitivity C-reactive protein?hs-CRP?were measured before and 8 weeks after the experiment. We were in light microscopy were observed after rat aorta HE staining.Result:1.The levels of TC,TG,LDL and ox-LDL in the two groups increased after the experiment, and the ox-LDL in the ethanol group was more obvious than that in the control group;2.The hs-CRP in the two groups increased in different degrees after the experiment, and the increase of the ethanol group was more obvious;3.Lipid deposits were seen in the tunica aortic medial layer in the ethanol group, and the aortic medial layer was obviously thickened.Conclusions:1.Under the condition of high fat diet intake of ethanol can promote ox-LDL and hs-CRP increased;2.Ethanol intake can promote the accumulation of lipid droplets in the aortic medial layer and lead to the thickening of aortic medial layer.
