ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the indications and efficacy of CT-guide percutaneous drainage on peripancreatic fluid collection caused by different factors.Materials and MethodsThe clinical and imaging information of 59 patients who had undergone CT-guide percutaneous drainage from January 2012 to November 2016 were analyzed. The patients were divided into different groups according to causes of peripancreatic fluid collection.Chi-square test,Corrected Chi-square test and Fisher’s exact test were applied to compare gender of the patients,CT severity index(CTSI),frequency of operations, postoperative symptomatic relief, surgical intervention and outcome of the disease between different groups.t test and Mann-Whitney U test was applied to compare age of the patients and hospitalization time between different groups.ResultsHealing rate of CT-guide percutaneous drainage on peripancreatic fluid collection was 88.14%(52/59),rate of postoperative surgical intervention was 10.16%(6/59),healing rate by first postoperative surgical intention was 83.33%(5/6),mortality rate was 11.86%(7/59).Significant differences were found on frequency of operations(p=0.01),surgical intervention(p=0.022)and hospitalization time(p=0.023)between pancreatitis and abdominal surgery.Significant differences were found on CTSI(p=0.011),frequency of operations(p=0.02),postoperative symptomatic relief(p=0.013),surgical intervention(p=0.005)between interstitial edematous pancreatitis and necrotizing pancreatitis.Significant differences were found on hospitalization time(p=0.009)between pancreatic surgery and gastrointestinal surgery.ConclusionCT-guide percutaneous drainage has the advantages of less complications, high success rate and repeatable operation, and it was more effective to patients with peripancreatic fluid collection caused by abdominal surgery, especially to gastrointestinal surgery.CT-guide percutaneous drainage was helpful to improve symptoms of patients with interstitial edematous pancreatitis, and stabilize condition of patients with necrotizing pancreatitis.
