Objective: To investigate and analyze the status of knowledge of insulin injections in non-endocrine nurses of Baoshan Branch of Shanghai First People's Hospital, and to explore their improvement on the insulin Standardize knowledge and skills of injections after the training with the guidelines of "China Diabetes Drug Injection Guide" 2011 edition(hereinafter referred to as "Guidelines").Methods: 150 nurses from non-endocrinology ward were randomly selected as the research objects in May,2016.Then a questionnaire survey about the knowledge of insulin injections was carried out to investigate the knowledge status of nurses.According to the "China Diabetes Drug Injection Guide" 2011 edition, all nurses accepted the training on the theory and operation. After that,we assessed the improvement on training effect.Data was used to build a database with Microsoft Excel software, and SPSS 22.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Chi-square test was used to compare the difference for the rates or proportion in two or more than two groups;t-test was used to compare the means in two groups. The significance level was designed as the 0.05,all the tests were the two-sided test. Results: The result of 150 questionnaires showed that non-endocrine nurses mastered the relatively lack knowledge of insulin injections. The main problems including the selection of the injection site, understandings about the "guide",the residence time of the needle after injection, and the technique on pinching the skin.Among them, there were 36 cases who know the selection of injection site, while 114 cases do not know.So the awareness rate is 24.0%.A total of 57 cases knew the "Guide",and 93 cases did not know the "Guide".Therefore the awareness rate is 38.0%.The awareness rate about the residence time of the needle after injection is 52.0% due to 78 cases who knew the knowledge except 72 other nurses. The awareness rate of the technique on pinching the skin is 56.7%.85 cases knew the method, while 65 cases did not. Before the training, the qualified rate of theoretical test is 54.0%,and the passing rate of the examination is 55.3%.After the training, the qualified rate of the test is 87.3%,and the qualified rate of the operation examination is 81.3%.The difference between the pre-training and post-training is statistically significant.(?2= 40.2,P<0.001;?2=23.4,P<0.001).Conclusion: According to the questionnaire survey and the test of theory and operation,we can conclude that non-endocrine nurses have insufficient knowledge of the effects of injection techniques on glycemic control. There is a nonstandard phenomenon in clinical practice. The "Guideline" training for non-endocrine nurse improve the theory and operational skills on insulin regulation injection, which can be carried out as a training model for clinical application in the future.
