Now days,with the improvement of people’s living standards,now there is growing concern over the health and the state of oral hygiene.And the most extensive research is undoubtedly dental caries restoration and antibacterial on denture base in the current oral hygiene status study.In half a century,composite resin as a filling material has been widely used in oral cavity caries restoration.However,there are still many defects in the composite resin used clinically,such as marginal microleakage after repair.In addition,with the aging of population situation becoming increasingly severe,the number of elderly people wearing denture base is increasing.But the denture base used in clinical there are a variety of problems,such as the antibacterial of denture base.In recent years,superhydrophobic materials have become more popular,and the application of superhydrophobic materials on biomedical has gradually been found.We hypothesized that the performance of strong waterproof,self-cleaning and low adhesion of superhydrophobic material for used on oral anti-microleakage and bacterial cleaning effect is a question worthy of inquiry.Then we planned to use superhydrophobic surface to coat on the surface of caries restoration and the surface of denture base.As the hydrophobic ability of superhydrophobic surface,thus it isolate from the water molecules and caries repair resin surface and the gap caused by polymerization shrinkage,so that water molecules can not penetrate into the resin and dental tissue.Thereby the durability of composite resin and dental adhesive are enhanced.Because superhydrophobic materials have good self-cleaning and low adhesion properties,when we coated it on the surface of the denture base,the superhydrophobic property makes it easy to wash away the residue adhered to the denture base,thereby it can reduce the residual bacteria to achieve the role of anti-bacterial.In chapter 1,We briefly reviewed the research progress of oral micro-leakage in dental caries restoration and the research progress of antibacterial technology on oral denture base.At the end of this chapter,we also put forward the design idea of this paper.In chapter 2,we prepared a novel superhydrophobic coating by sol-gel method.The coating is consisted of a double-capped polyurethane and fluorinated functionalized silica nanoparticles.The superhydrophobic coatings prepared is the first time to used in the application of dental caries for anti-microleakage repair.As the hydrophobic ability of superhydrophobic surface,thus it isolate from the water molecules and caries repair resin surface and the gap caused by polymerization shrinkage,so that water molecules can not penetrate into the resin and dental tissue.The results showed that the super-hydrophobic coating has a high water contact angle(160.1o)and a low rolling angle(less than 1°).And the transmittance of the superhydrophobic coating reaches 99.02% at 700 nm.In addition,in the microleakage characterization,there was almost no microleakage in the experimental group of dental with superhydrophobic coatings.Therefore,the super-hydrophobic coating provides a new development ideas in the field of anti-microleakage.In chapter 3,we designed a transparent superhydrophobic coating made from a mixture of hydroxylated fluoropolymer,polyurethane prepolymer and epoxidized nanosilica.Since superhydrophobic coating generally have good performance of selfcleaning and low adhesion,we try to apply it on the surface of denture base for antimicrobial experimental research.The results showed that the water contact angle of the superhydrophobic coating is as high as 155.9° and the rolling angle is less than 1°,which indicates that it has a good self-cleaning effect.At the same time,the coating showed good transparency,and the transmittance was as high as 85% at 700 nm.In addition,the superhydrophobic coating show ed good antibacterial properties in the antimicrobial experiments,indicating that it is a meaningful idea for superhydrophobic coating to apply to the denture base on antibacterial technology.
