Health Behaviors And Influencing Factors Among Population With Stroke

Objective:Using the health behavior of stroke patients questionnaire to investigate the level of health behavior among population with stroke in Baoding,and explore factors influencing of heath behaviors among population with stroke.Methods:The health behavior of stroke patients questionnaire was developed based on the guideline of secondary prevention.Suggestions from experts had been considered.Item analysis and exploratory factor analysis was used to determine the structure of questionnaire.The reliability analysis uses the internal consistency reliability,and the validity analysis included the content validity and construct validity.Using the theory of KAP to analysis the factors influencing of health behaviors among population with stroke.By convenient sampling methods,381 stroke patients were selected from three three level of first-class hospital of Baoding City as the research object.The main measuring instruments included the general information,the health knowledge questionnaire of stroke patient,the Champion health belief model scale and the health behavior questionnaire of stroke patients.The data were processed by SPSS Software Package(Version19.0).Descriptive Statistics,Independent-Samples T Test,One-way ANOVA,Pearson and Multiple Linear Regression were performed.Results:1.The final health behavior of patients with stroke questionnaire was made up of 24 items.The total content validity(S-CVI)of the questionnaire was 0.97,and the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.807.2.The score of overall stroke knowledge was(47.19±7.66),and the standardized score for 76.11.The highest score was followed by warning signs of stroke(86.3),medication knowledge(79.50),related risk factors of stroke(73.23).in the domain of the way of life(73.17).3.The score of overall health belief stroke was(119.15±7.01),and the mean score of health belief was(3.40±0.20).The highest score was in the domain of cues to action,followed by self-efficacy,perceived benefits,perceived severity,perceived barriers and the lowest was perceived susceptibility.4.The score of health behavior of stroke patients in Baoding city was(69.76±10.08)points,the average score was(2.91±0.42).The highest score was getting rid of bad habits behavior(4.10±0.85)points,followed by avoiding harmful health behaviors(3.39±0.72)points,basic health behavior(2.77±0.4 4),warning behavior(2.60±0.61)and health behavior(1.99±0.70).5.In a multiple liner regression analysis,gender,age,education,duration,health insurance,self-efficacy,perceived barriers and perceived benefits were included in the regression equation of health behavior in population with stroke.These factors can explain 56.40% of the variation of health behavior of stroke.The standardized partial regression coefficient shows that the contribution to the health behavior of patients with stroke from high to low are gender,self-efficacy,health insurance,age,perceived benefits,perceived barriers,educational level,disease education.Conclusion:1.The score of health knowledge with stroke patients was in the middle level.The domain of the way of life are the lowest.2.The score of health belief was lower.The domain of cues to action and self-efficacy were in higher level,and the domain of perceived barriers and perceived susceptibility were in lower level.3.The state of health behavior of patients with stroke is in the middle level.The highest score was getting rid of bad habits behavior points,followed by avoiding harmful health behaviors points,basic health behavior,warning behavior and health behavior.The lowest scores included regular physical examination,weight control,doing 30 minutes aerobic exercise at least 3 times a week,reading about the preven-tion and treatment of books or watch related TV programs.4.The influencing factors of health behavior among stroke patients included gender,age,education,duration of illness,health insurance,self-efficacy,perceived barriers,perceived benefits.Female,age,high school degree or above,self-efficacy,perceived benefits,1-3 duration were the promotion factors of health behavior with stroke,and perceived barriers are impeding factors for health behavior in patients with stroke.
