Objective:To analyse the survival rate of Simple-cholecystectomy and radical-resection for stage T1 b of gallbladder cancer. Methods: A thorough search of Pubmed,Embase, the Cochrane library and the Chinese Bio Medical Literature(CBM)databases was performed to identify comparative studies concerning combined Simple-cholecystectomy and radical-resection for stage T1 b of gallbladder cancer. Results:Eleven studies with a total of 291 gallbladder cancer cases statisfied the inclusion criteria. The results of the meta-analysis revealed that radical resection was associated with a better overall 1-,3-,5-year survival rate than cholecystectomy(OR=0.23,95%CI 0.12-0.45,P<0.0001,OR=0.38,95%CI 0.21-0.68,P=0.001,OR=0.30,95%CI 0.15-0.57,P=0.0003);No significant differences were found between the two groups in respect to postoperative mortality and morbidity. Conclusions:The survival rate of the patients who got the stage T1 b gallbladder cancer following radical resection are higher than that following receiving simple cholecystectomy. |
