Objective:Using color ultrasound to observe the effects of menopausal hormone therapy(MHT)on carotid intima-media thickness(CIMT)and its related factors.To assess the MHT effects of carotid atherosclerosis.Methods:We screened women who aged 40-60 years old and visited our hospital between December 2011 and December 2014.These women are natural menopause having uterus and at least one ovary.They are all with menopause symptoms and never accepted MHT.These women are divided into two groups according to the different willingness and treatment therapy.Women who accepted the MHT treatment as the observation group(68 cases),who without MHT as control group(87 cases).These women were followed up for two years.We collected and compared the clinical information of the two group before and after 2 years.The clinical data including the patient's height,weight,blood pressure,Blood lipid four and fasting blood glucose.We choose color ultrasonic to observe carotid intima-media thickness and plaque formation.We use the Crouse integral for quantitative analysis of the plaque Data using t test,c2 inspection.Results:The average age of MHT group and control group is respectively(50.8±3.1 ?49.6±3.8).Two groups of clinical data there was no statistical significance(p > 0.05)when they came into the experimental.Treatment for 2 years later,the MHT group and control group in the carotid artery abnormal rate was 20.59%(14/68),40.23%(35/87).Two groups of Crouse integral respectively was 1.71±0.22 ? 2.22±0.65.Carotid artery abnormality rate and Crouse integral observation group was obviously lower than the control group,compare the difference was statistically significant(p < 0.05).Systolic blood pressure,TC,LDL,FPG in MHT group had significantly lower(p < 0.05),but higherHDL than control group.There was no statistically significant difference in diastolic blood pressure,body weight,TG(p > 0.05).The clinical data in MHT group have no statistically significant difference before and after treatment(p > 0.05).After followed up,Systolic pressure,diastolic blood pressure,TC and CIMT in control group were significant higher than 2 years before(p < 0.05).the observation group TC,LDL and FPG significantly lower than the control group,HDL is higher than the control group.(2)Observation group no statistically significant difference were observed in the clinical data comparison before and after treatment(p > 0.05);The control group after 2 years systolic pressure,SBP,TC and LDL levels were greater than in the group,and the difference was statistically significant(p < 0.05).Conclusion:(1)The number of carotid artery anomalies increased in Control group is significantly more than the MHT group.The control plaque progression rate higher than the observation group,MHT can delay the carotid atherosclerotic formation and plays a role of protection on the cardiovascular system.(2)The blood pressure and blood fat have no obvious changed in MHT group before and after treatment.Systolic blood pressure,TC,LDL increase in the control group.Atherosclerosis risk factors increased in the control group.MHT can slow down the progress of atherosclerosis risk factors and protect the cardiovascular system.MHT may delay the carotid atherosclerotic formation and have protection on it.
