Objective: To analysis prevalence of children's ADHD and comorbid psychiatric disorders in Chongqing,China.Methods:The Department of Growth and Development of Children and Adolescents and Mental Health Center in Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University,2426 children aged 6 to 16 years(1938 boys,488 girls)were included.Patients were tested for intellectual functions and adaptive functioning.All Parents and teachers of those children completed SNAP-?.Diagnosis and classification was based on DSM-? criteria.The prevalence of comorbid psychiatric disorders(oppositional defiant disorder(ODD),conduct disorder(CD)and anxiety/depression disorder(Anx-Dep)),on the basis of age,subtype of ADHD,and gender were calculated.Interaction was analysized by logistic regresion analysis.Results:1186(48.9%)and 910(43.4%)children were diagnosed with ADHD in parents group and teachers group.Parents reported more than teachers(48.89% vs 43.4%,p<0.001).The most frequent type of ADHD in this study was inattentive subtype ADHD(ADHD-I)(58.3% and 64.73%).ADHD in boys group were more than girls group(P < 0.05).ADHD prevalence of parents group in the age group of 6-11 years had no significant difference with 12-16years(p=0.249),in teachers group in the age group of 6-11 years were more than those in the 12-16 years group(p=0.039).At least one other psychiatric disorder(ODD83.3%,CD21.7% or Anx-Dep 32.9%)was seen in 49.4%(586/1186)of the children with ADHD,versus 24.5 %(303/1240)of the children without ADHD(P<0.001).The comorbidity frequencies of the 6-11 years group and boys group had no significant difference with 12-16 years group and girls group(P>0.05).The rate of associated co-morbidities in ADHD children with inattentive subtype ADHD(ADHD-I)were more than hyperactive-impulsive subtype(ADHD-HI)and combined subtype(ADHD-C).Of these 586 children,more than 189(32.25%)children had two and three comorbid psychiatric disorders.Comorbidity were significantly associated with age,gender and ADHD subtypes.Conclusion:The prevalence of ADHD in parents group were more than teachers group.The incidence of comorbidities among children with ADHD is high,especially the ODD,which should be emphases on the prevention.Comorbidity were significantly associated with age,gender and ADHD subtypes.As for the children who do not accord with the diagnostic criteria of ADHD,the comorbidity incidence was also high,so for these children attentions also need to be paid for interventions.
