Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of stent-assisted coiling in the treatment of ruptured intracranial vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm(VADA).Methods A total of 30 patients with intracranial vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm, who were treated with stent-assisted coiling at authors' hospital during the period from January 2011 to October 2016,we retrospectively reviewed those patients clinical manifestation, characteristics of DSA,immediate occlusion degree, surgical complications and follow-up.Results Successful surgical was achieved in all the 30 patients with ruptured vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm.complete occlusion in 5 patients, nearly complete occlusion in 6 patients, partial occlusion in 19 patients, postoperatively, one patient died, one patient with contrast agent encephalopathy, other patients no bleeding or new ischemic complications;Follow-up DSA examination was performed in 25 patients, the follow-up time was 6-24 months(average=16 months),complete occlusion patients showed stable,in nearly complete occlusion patients: 1 patients showed stable,3 patients improved,1 patients of recurrence,in partial occlusion patients: 6 patients showed stable,7 patients improved,3 patients of recurrence,4 patients of recurrence,2 patients of retreatment,2 patients without treatment.Follow-up Clinical outcome was performed in 29 patients, the follow-up time was 2-62 months(average=26 months),the modified mRS score,mRS=0(n = 26),mRS=1(n = 1),mRS=2(n = 1),mRS=4(n = 1).Conclusion Stent-assisted coiling is safe and effective for ruptured intracranial VADA,in the case of incomplete occlusion, application of multiple overlapping stents is effective to reduce the risk of rebleeding and recurrence.
