Objective: To investigate the relationship between serum human epididymal protein 4(HE4)level,CA125 level and the clinicopathological features of ovarian cancer, also to evaluate the significance of combined detection of CA125 and HE4 in the recurrence of ovarian cancer. In addition,we aim to evaluate the signification of HE4 on the recurrence of ovarian cancer patients, and to explore whether HE4 plays an important role in predicting the recurrence of postoperative ovarian cancer patients. Methods: The expression levels of CA125 and HE4 in serum samples of 83 patients with ovarian cancer were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).We use SPSS 18.0 to investigate the relationship between the expression of serum CA125 and HE4 in ovarian cancer patients with clinical stage, the level of differentiation, age, size of postoperative residual lesion, the maximum diameter of preoperative tumor, ascites and recurrence time.To explore the significance of HE4 in predicting the recurrence of postoperative ovarian cancer patients. Results: Preoperative serum HE4 levels and clinicopathological features of ovarian cancer analysis showed that abdominal content greater than 500 ml and less than 500 ml differences in preoperative HE4 level was statistically significant, preoperative HE4 level higher, suggesting that more amount of ascites in ovarian cancer patients. The difference of postoperative residual lesions less than 2cm in the preoperative HE4 level and postoperative residual lesions greater than 2cm is statistically significant, the preoperative level of HE4 is higher, the clean surgery more difficult, postoperative residual lesions greater. There were significant differences between the different stages of ovarian cancer and preoperative HE4 level, and the difference was statistically significant. The preoperative HE4 level was abnormal, which suggested that the later stage of ovarian cancer. The statistical relationship between the amplitude and the clinical pathological features analysis showed that HE4 decreased 2 weeks after surgery, preoperative tumor maximum diameter is different in two weeks after surgery decreased HE4 amplitude differences are statistically significant, preoperative tumor maximum diameter of less than 10 cm in patients with ovarian cancer, two weeks after operation,HE4 decreased more than possible 50%,analysis of the relationship between the level of HE4 after 3 cycles of chemotherapy and clinical pathological features of ovarian cancer, aged 60 or above and below the HE4 level after 3 courses of treatment differences were statistically significant, the age of onset of ovarian cancer is small, after 3 courses of the level of HE4 more easily in the normal range.Different mass differences in preoperative diameter after 3 courses on the level of HE4 was statistically significant, preoperative tumor maximum diameter of less than 10 cm in patients with ovarian cancer,3 after treatment HE4 levels tended to be normal, the more likely to shorten the time of recurrence. The difference of residual lesion size after HE4 treatment was statistically significant at 3 levels. The smaller the residual lesion, the more normal the HE4 level after 3 courses of treatment. The difference of HE4 level between the 3 levels after treatment was statistically significant. After 3 courses of treatment, the level of HE4 was abnormal, and the time of recurrence was more likely to shorten. There was no significant difference between the results of CA125 and HE4 joint detection and the results of the individual tests. All the above conclusions were statistically analyzed, and the P value was less than 0.05.Conclusion: The expression of HE4 could be a predictor in the evaluation of recurrence in postoperative ovarian cancer patient.
