Objective:Tea pigment is one of the main active ingredient in tea.In recent years, research has found that its inhibition of oral pathogenic bacteria, and tea pigment can combine with saliva protein on the surface of the tooth membrane.Tea pigment itself is a mixture, its composition is complicated, this experiment mainly study on the tea pigment as the research object, analysis of specific components of tea pigment attached to the tooth surface, and the adsorption on the surface of the tooth dynamic analysis. At the same time, the study showed that the tea has mineralization effect on the enamel, but its composition of tea is complex, this experiment alone to explore mineralization of the tea pigments on the enamel, further study on the effect and feasibility of caries prevention.Methods:1.Tea pigment composition analysis of the attached to surface of the tooth: using high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)method, analysis of different tea pigment solution composition change, speculated that attach to the tooth surface of tea pigment composition, specific time and speed and adsorption on the tooth.Drawing standard curve of theaflavins, measuring tea pigment content of theaflavins in which is attached on the tooth surface composition. To observe the effect of tea pigments on the tooth surface by binocular stereo microscope.2.Tea pigment mineralization analysis of the tooth enamel.Using the surface microhardness of experimental teeth samples before mineralization, mineralization, then the measured hardness change after the mineralization, explore the effect of tea pigment of enamel demineralization. Conclusions:Tea pigment easily attached to the tooth surface,at the 22 hours,it attached tends to saturation, and mainly distributed in the pit and fissure.Tea pigment composition is complex and unstable,as time changes, change its content. The tea pigments that adhere to the tooth surface are presumed to be thearubigins or theabrownins. The effect of tea pigments on caries prevention was mainly bacteriostasis, and had no effect on enamel redemineralization.
