Purpose:Through a study on the awareness of nutrition labeling of foods among rural inhabitants in five cities in Shanxi Province to discuss the influencing factors of rural residents' awareness of nutrition labeling of foods.Then provides certain scientific basis for works targeting to rural residents,such as health education about food labels,health promotion,popularization of nutrition knowledge,and guidance that helps customers to choose foods appropriately.Method:Use convenience sampling method to select 900 rural residents over the age of 18 from some counties in Yuncheng,Changzhi,Taiyuan,Xinzhou,and Datong of Shanxi Province.Then conduct a him-administered survey with the SPSS 22.0 software to analyze data.Use sx ±to describe quantitative data;use frequency(constituent ratios)to describe qualitative data;use chi-square test to compare unordered categorical data interblock;use Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test to compare ordinal data interblock,with a test standard ?=0.05 on both sides;use Logistic regression to conduct a multivariate analysis;use forward conditional likelihood ratio(Forward:Conditional)to filter argument based on the standard ??=0.05,??=0.10.Results:1.21.2% of rural residents know what is nutrition labeling of foods,and 29.8%of people know NRV.Access to nutrition knowledge for people is ranked from high to low as follows: internet(53.4%),telecast(49.4%),relatives or family(47.3%),classmates,colleagues,and friends(38.8%),newspapers and magazines(36.4%),training,classroom,and else(14.7%).2.14.9% of people always concern about nutrition facts;19.2% of people often concern about nutrition fact;55.9% of people believe nutrition labeling and supplement facts are necessary;54.6% of people believe nutritional function is helpful in choosing foods;57.1% of people believe they can know nutritional features about foods,and intake proper nutrition through nutrition labeling.3.Nutrition value is the most important factor for 34.2%of people when they buy foods.When choosing food,people most care about production date and shelf life on the labeling,followed by quality safety mark,food ingredient list,nutrition facts,net weight,and producer's name and address.They also pay different attention to different products' nutrition labeling.They will most care about nutrition labeling,when they buy milk and milk products,followed by bean products,bread,cookies,cooked meat products,drinks,infant food,and fortified food.Furthermore,the purchasing behavior of 9.6% residents is always influenced by nutrition labeling,and 19.5% of people are often influenced.Conclusion:1.Nutrition labeling KAP's conditions of rural residents: People's awareness about nutrition labeling is not quite good,but their attitude towards nutrition labeling is positive.Nutrition labeling has a certain influence on people's food purchasing behavior.2.Nutrition labeling KAP's influencing factors of rural residents: Gender,educational background,chronic disease history are favorable factors for people to know nutrition labeling;a good understanding about nutrition labeling is a favorable factor for people to know the necessity and function about the awareness of nutrition labeling and the labels;an awareness and a positive attitude of nutrition labeling is a favorable influencing factor to rural residents' food purchasing behavior.
