Objective:To Compare the threshold difference and to analyze thresholds relationship between auditory steady state response(ASSR)/40 Hz auditory event related potentials(40Hz AERP)and pure-tone audiometry(PTA),and it,the obiective evidence for diagnosis of occupational noise deafness, will be provided.Methods:117 patients with occupational noise-induced deafness and 34 normal adults underwent determination of hearing thresholds by ASSR and PTA,and 101 of the 117 patients also underwent determination by 40 Hz AERP in the same day.Results:1,the normal group: differences between ASSR and PTA thresholds were-0.04,2.75,2.51,and 4.16 dB at 0.5,1,2,and 4kHz,respectively;the correlation coefficients between the hearing thresholds determined by ASSR and PTA were 0.13,0.38,0.18,and0.40 at 0.5,1,2,and 4kHz,respectively2,the patient group: differences between ASSR and PTA thresholds were 3.12,-0.78,0.14,and 3.42 dB at 0.5,1,2,and 4kHz,respectively;the correlation coefficients between the hearing thresholds determined by ASSR and PTA were 0.60,0.81,0.84,and0.81 at 0.5,1,2,and 4kHz,respectively3,the normal group: differences between 40 Hz AERP and PTA thresholds were 1.32,11.54,and 13.59 dB at 0.5,1,and 2k Hz,respectively;the correlation coefficients between the hearing thresholds determined by 40 Hz AERP and PTA were 0.40,0.50,and 0.44 at 0.5,1,and 2kHz,respectively4,the normal group: differences between 40 Hz AERP and PTA thresholds were-0.85 dB,8.94,and 10.92 dB at 0.5,1,and 2kHz,respectively;the correlation coefficients between the hearing thresholds determined by 40 Hz AERP and PTA were 0.68,0.86,and 0.88 at 0.5,1,and 2kHz,respectively.Conclusions:The ASSR and 40 Hz AERP are excellent reference objective method for the determination of hearing thresholds at carrier frequencies,as well as determination of the level of hearing loss and the audiometric configuration.
