Objective:To compare the diagnostic value of dynamic enhanced magnetic resonance imaging scans(DCE-MRI),ultrasound shear wave elastography(USWE)and combined DCE-MRI/USWE in detecting human benign and malignant breast tumors.Methods:The patients who were diagnosed with single or multiple breast tumor lesions between January 2015 to February 2017 at Shanxi Dayi hospital,Shanxi Academy of Medical Sciences in China were screened in this project.Of 69 included patients,73 breast tumors samples were identified by DCE-MRI and USWE.Positive and negative cases were confirmed by histology.The sensitivity and specificity of DCE-MRI and USWE were compared retrospectively.DEC-MRI of the breast lesions were evaluated by Fischer’s scoring method,and then the lesions were classified according to BI-RADS(breast imaging reporting and data system,BI-RADS).70 Kpa was defined as shear wave elastography(SWE)elastic modulus Emax cut-off value.DCE-MRI and SWE combined diagnosis was evaluated by parallel test.Furthermore,the diagnostic value of DCE-MRI and USWE in detecting breast tumors were discussed.Results:73 tumor samples were analyzed under three categories: DCE-MRI identified group,USWE identified group and DCE-MRI/USWE identified group.DCE-MRI diagnosiscompared with USWE independence,χ2= 0.083,P > 0.05,there was no statistically significant difference.Based on the histological diagnose results,the sensitivity and specificity of DCE-MRI in detecting breast tumors are 90.2% and 81.20% respectively,while these for SWE are 82.9% and 78.1% respectively.Combing the DCE-MRI and USWE to diagnose breast tumors,the sensitivity will increase to 92.7%,and specificity will decrease to 68.8%.Conclusion:There is no difference between DCE-MRI and USWE hanve in diagnosing benign and malignant breast lesions.Both DCE-MRI and USWE have high sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing benign and malignant breast lesions.Combining both methods of DCE-MRI and USWE will definitely improve the sensitivity of breast tumor diagnosis,however,the specificity may be compromised.
