Background:Many factors affect the choice of breast reconstruction in breast cancer patients underwent mastectomy.Breast reconstruction has very important psychological effect. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relevant factors affecting breast reconstruction.Materials and Methods:The study enrolled 106 patients from April 2016 to December 2016 in the department of breast surgery of Shanxi Dayi Hospital, which include patients who was diagnosed, treated in this hospital and those from other hospitals. The following variables were analyzed: age, occupation, educational level, marital status, family income status, hospitalization reimbursement, the hospital type of the patients under surgery, information about "breast reconstruction",postoperative time, surgical approach, axillary lymph node surgery, pathological stage and molecular subtypes, complications after surgery, self image satisfaction, adjuvant therapy.SPSS19.0 were used to analyzing the data. The age was expressed as mean ± standard deviation. The count data were expressed by the number of cases(composition ratio). The statistical methods applied were t test,chi-square analysis and multivariate logistic regression. Results:In this study, questionnaires were sent to 106 patients. The rate of questionnaire completion was 100%.The median age of the patients was 52 years(range,23 to 76 years)with an average age of 51.24 ± 11.12 years. The multivariate analysis demonstrated that family income, age and surgical treatment of hospital types were significantly associatedwith breast reconstruction. The patients with high family income are more likely to accept breast reconstruction.Patients with more than 10000 yuan income is 5.0 times(OR 5.095% CI 3.835-6.261 P = 0.008)than those with less than 2000 yuan;Patients younger than 52-year-old are 1.3 times likely to receive breast reconstruction than those older 52-year-old(OR 0.8 95% CI 0.706-0.870 P = 0.008);Compared with women who treated in normal hospital, patients treated in three-level general hospital are more than 47 times to undergo breast reconstruction(OR 47.4 95% CI 44.686-50.040 P = 0.005).Discussion:Although the rate of breast reconstruction gradually increased, the few patients choose breast reconstruction.Age,family economic conditions, hospital type of surgical treatment are the important factor affecting the patients' choice of breast reconstruction.
