Objective:Rho is Ras homologue, belonging to the member of the small GTP-binding protein superfamily.RhoC is a member of the Rho subfamily. At present, many experimental studies found that Rho family members can be found in breast cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer and melanoma tissues detected high expression, and Rho family is closely related to above tumor invasion and metastasis. However, there are few reports on the correlation between RhoC and tongue carcinoma. This study will focus on the discussion of differential expression of RhoC in tongue carcinoma, paracancerous tissues, metastasis of lymph node and normal lymph nodes; And the analysis of whether there is a correlation between the expression level of RhoC protein and clinical pathological features. To investigate the clinical significance of RhoC expression in tongue cancer. Methods:Immunohistochemistry technique and Western blotting technology was used to analysis the carcinoma tissue including 42 cases of tongue carcinoma and 35 Gases of adjacent normal tissues and 10 cases of metastatic, lymph node tissues and 10 cases of normal lymph node tissue specimens were determined by semi quantitative analysis to detect the expression, and analyze the relationship between RhoC protein expression level and clinicopathological features, the relationship between the expression of RhoC protein level and the prognosis of patients with tongue cancer. Results:The expression of RhoC in tongue carcinoma tissues was higher than that in adjacent tissues and normal tongue tissues, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The expression of RhoC in tongue cancer with distant metastatic lymph node tissues was significantly higher than that in tongue carcinoma and normal lymph node tissues(P<0.05).The expression of RhoC protein in tongue cancer tissues had no gender and age differences(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of RhoC protein was positively correlated with the clinical stage of tumor(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of RhoC protein in poorly differentiated tongue carcinoma tissue was higher than that of the differentiated tongue carcinoma(P<0.05).Conclusion:The positive expression of RhoC protein in tongue cancer tissues was significantly higher than those in the adjacent tissues and normal tongue tissue, the expression of RhoC in tongue cancer with distant metastasis lymph node tissues was significantly higher than that without metastasis to lymph node tissue and tongue tissue differentiation was positively correlated with RhoC protein expression level level and tongue cancer tissue specimens. The expression of RhoC protein is closely related to the occurrence and development of tongue cancer and the invasion and metastasis of tongue cancer. It is concluded that RhoC may be involved in the development and progression of tongue cancer.
