Effects Of Three Curative Methods On Sexual Function In Male Patients With Urethral Stricture

Objective:To investigate the effects of three curative methods on sexual function in male patients with urethral stricture.Methods: By collecting the patients of urethral stricture from January 2011 to March 2016 in urology of our hospital,then we analysis the difference of clinical datas by retrospective analysis.These patients were treated with urethral dilatation,urethral incision and urethral end anastomosis in our hospital.According to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,60 male patients with surgical treatment were selected,and the age is from 18 to 66.Then analyse the difference s of clinical datas of 60 patients.All patients are wre divided into three groups according to three different surgical methods.Through outpatient follow-up,telephone follow-up and follow-up survey of communication,we allow the patients to fill in the Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire(SLQQ),and the International Elderly Function Questionnaire(IIEF-5).The sexual function of the patients was evaluated at pro-operation and 3 months postoperation and 6months postoperation.All the patients were followed up for 6 months after the operation.To evaluate the effects of three surgical methods on the sexual function of the patients and to find out the risk factors that affect the sexual function of the patients.Results:We successfully collected 53 of useful datas,the average age ofpatients was 39.9 years old,and including 18 patients with urethral dilatation,12 patients underwent urethral incision,and 23 patients underwent endoscopic anastomosis.Overall,the IIEF-5 score and SLQQ score in patients with urethral dilatation after 3 months and 6 months compared with pro-operation had no significant changes.But the scores of IIEF-5 and SLQQ of patients with urethral incision and end-to-end anastomosis after 3 months and 6 months were significantly lower,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Concluion: Urethral dilatation has little effect on postoperative sexual function,and urethral incision and end anastomosis have a great effect on the postoperative sexual function.The rate of erectile dysfunction in urethral end anastomosis was larger than urinary incision.Surgical methods and the narrow parts have effects on patient's sexual function,and the connection of age and narrow length with the postoperative sexual function is not clear.Over time,postoperative sexual function in some patients of urinary tract stenosis can be improved.
