Significance Of ?9nAChR Expression In Colorectal Cancer(CRC)

Objectives: Colorectal cancer(CRC)is one of the most common malignancies,the main cause of death is the metastasis and recurrence.9nAChR is a member of AChRs family and is implicated in tumordevelopment,proliferation and metastasis,especially in breast cancer cells.The significance of 9nAChR in CRC remains unclear.The aim of thepresent study is to investigate the expression of ?9nAChR in CRC and the relationship between clinicopathological characteristics and the 9nAChRexpression.Method: Immunohistochemistry was used to examine the expression of?9nAChR proteins in CRC tissue.The specimens were primary colorectal cancer cases,with the preoperative diagnosis of adenocarcinoma,and no radiation and chemotherapy treatment.46 cases with CRC were stage?7cases,stage?19 cases,stage ? 20 cases;male 25 cases,female 21 cases.The normal colon tissue was control group in which was far away from colorectal cancer tissues more than 5 cm.The specimens were fixed by 4%formaldehyde solution.Results:1 The ?9nAChR expression was mainly located in cell membrane and cytoplasm of CRC cells.It also expressed in CRC of mesenchyme tissue and tertiary lymphoid tissue.The ?9nAChR scarcely expressed in normal tissue.The overall expression rate was 63.04% in CRC tissues.2 The expression of ?9n AChR in elder patients(>60y)was higher than in younger ones(63.64% vs 33.33%,P<0.05).3 The positive rate of ?9nAChR expression was 14.29%,42.11% and65.00%,respectively.The expression of ?9nAChR was associated to the invasion of tumor as well as the lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).4 The ?9nAChR positive rate in CEA normal group was 33.33%,whereasit was 63.64% in CEA elevated group(P<0.05).5 The expression of ?9nACh R was not associated with the gender,tumor location,blood platelet count.Conclusion:1 The ?9nAChR was highly expressed in CRC.2 The expression of ?9nAChR was closely related to the age of patients,depth of invasion,lymphatic node metastasis and the leve of CEA.
