Objective: To observe the effects of computer aided movable and measurement of ankle foot orthosis on the postoperative dysfunction after ankle fracture,and to explore a new method of rehabilitation for ankle joint dysfunction.Methods: Fifty-nine patients with ankle fractures were randomly divided into experimental group(n = 29)and control group(n = 30)by throwing coins.Both groups received conventional oral medication and rehabilitation therapy.In addition,the patients in the control group were given joint mobilization treatment,while those in the experimental group were given computer aided movable and measurement of AFO treatment,each group take a different training method,20 min per day,6 days a week,4weeks in total.The computer assessment of muscle strength(Newton),active range of motion(AROM),Kofoed ankle score and visual analogue scale(VAS)were used to evaluate the postoperative function of ankle fracture at the before and different training time on day 7,day 14,day 28 of treatment,and the efficacy of each stage was observe.Results: Fifty-nine patients were selected to meet the inclusion criteria,fifty-two patients completed the treatment(There were 3 cases in the experimental group,4 cases in the control group refused to continue treatment due to discharge and fall off).The general information and the Kofoed score,VAS score,the computer assessment of muscle strength,AROM were no significant difference between the control group and the experimental group(P > 0.05).After 28 days of training,the above indexes were improved in both control group and the experimental group(P < 0.05),there were significant differences between the two groups.After training before on day 7,day 14,day 28,the each time point scores of VAS,Kofoed ankle score,computer assessment of muscle strength(N)in experimental group were better than those in control group(P < 0.05),There was significant difference between the experimental group and the control group of dorsiflexion AROM on day 28(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups of dorsiflexion and plantar flexion AROM on day 7,day 14 and dorsiflexion AROM on day 28(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)The joint mobilization treatment group and the computer aided movable and measurement of AFO treatment group can improve the ankle function score significantly.(2)The Kofoed score,VAS score and the computer assessment of muscle strength in the computer aided movable and measurement of AFO treatment group were better than the joint mobilization treatment group.(3)The computer aided movable and measurement of AFO can not only improve the ankle muscle strength and AROM,but can also measuring the rate of plantar flexion and dorsiflexion muscle strength accurately,objective to assessment the recovery of muscle strength.
