ObjectiveTo investigate the changes of serum TNF-?,IL-1?,IL-10,IL-13,lung ultrastructure and respiratory function in the early stage of pulmonary contusion.Methods16 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into:(1)Pulmonary contusion group of severe thoracic trauma(n=12);(2)Normal control group without injury(n=4).We established a model of pulmonary contusion caused by severe thoracic trauma then detected serum IL-10,IL-13,IL-1 and TNF-? in 1,2,3,4h after contusion.In the meantime we obtained the respiratory rate f,tidal volume(VT),airway pressure,end-expiratory CO2 concentration and data on respiration rate curve in each of the above phases.We performed anatomy of the lung tissue in each phases and observed the pathological changes of ultrastructure.ResultsIn the early stage after pulmonary contusion,the expression of TNF-? and IL-1? increased;The expression of IL-10 and IL-13 continued to decline in general;Progressive destruction of the Lung ultrastructure eventually resulted in alveolar wall damage.A large number of red blood cells and inflammatory cells infiltration occurred in alveolar space and compartment and severe capillary congestion caused significant reduction of the alveolar ventilation volume and PO2,continuous elevation of P-AO2 and the descent of pulmonary compliance.ConclusionIn the early stage of Pulmonary contusion by thoracic trauma,the expression of TNF-? increases and the expression of IL-1? grows significantly,While the expression of IL-10 and IL-13 decreases continuously;In the early stage of Pulmonary contusion by thoracic trauma,the damage of ultrastructure of lung tissue progress continuously and severe lung function impairment.In the early stage of Pulmonary contusion by thoracic trauma,the changes of serum TNF-?,IL-1?,IL-10,IL-13,have correlation with the change of lung ultrastructure and respiratory function.
