Cynomorium Songaricum Rupr is a plant mainly growing in Inner Mongolia and the North-West China.With its rich nutriment and bioactive components,this plant has been historically used as food source and consequently become a part of the specialty food in these regions.However,Cynomorium Songaricum varies in nutrient quality due to the geologic and climatic differences in its growing areas.Therefore,it's crucial to identify the principal differentiator and develop quantitative methods on its active components for future development of this plant.In this paper,we analyzed the contents of nutriment and bioactive components,evaluated the nutritional quality of Cynomorium Songaricum in 10 main areas(5 in Alex League,4 in North-West China and 1 in Bayannaoer)in order to provide theoretical support for quality control in this plant.Also,quantitative methods have been developed to provide quick and accurate standards for enterprises.(1)Comparison and analysis of nutriment and bioactive components of Cynomorium Songaricum in its growing areas.The contents of nutriment and bioactive components from Cynomorium Songaricum in 10 main areas(5 in Inner Mongolia,4 in North-West China and 1 in Bayannaoer)were detected,the results show that catechin,starch,crude fat,ash,polysaccharide,reducing sugar and flavonoids are closely related to the nutritional quality of Cynomorium Songaricum based on principal components analysis.Cynomorium Songaricum in Alex League are rich in catechin,starch and crude fat;Gansu,Qinghai,Tibet's are rich in flavonoids;Bayannaoer's is rich in sucrose and polysaccharide;Ningxia's are rich in protein.According to the results of cluster analysis,Cynomorium Songaricum showed clustering differences in nutritional components' contents because of natural environment differences in origin places.(2)A method for content determination of polysaccharide in Cynomorium Songaricum chewable tablets.A spectrophotometry method was developed for content determination of polysaccharide in Cynomorium Songaricum chewable tablets,glucose as the reference standard.The linear equation related coefficient and range of linearity were y=57.317x-0.0114,r=0.9991,0.0030~0.0135 mg/ml,respectively.The precision was 2.14%(RSD).The repeatability was 2.42%.The recoveries obtained were from 98.97% to 102.13%.The content of polysaccharide in sample was 21.67 g/100 g.The method was linear and sensitive for the determination of polysaccharide in Cynomorium Songaricum's chewable tablets.(3)A method for content determination of flavonoids in Cynomorium Songaricum chewable tablets.A spectrophotometry method was developed for content determination of flavonoids in Cynomorium Songaricum chewable tablets,Rutin as the reference standard.The linear equation related coefficient and range of linearity were y=11.920x+0.0072,r=0.9994,4.02-64.32 ?g/mL,respectively.The precision was 1.04%(RSD).The repeatability was 1.80%.The recoveries obtained were from 93.70% to 104.58%.The content of flavonoids in sample was 21.67 g/100 g.The method was simple,linear and sensitive for the determination of flavonoids in Cynomorium Songaricum's chewable tablets.
