| Objectives To analyze the relationship between serum homocysteine(HCY),neuron specific enolase(NSE)level and the carotid intima-media thickening in type 2 diabetes mellitus,and to provide scientific basis for early intervention and treatment of diabetic vascular disease.Methods 161 patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus were selected from the north china university of science and technology affiliated hospital.According to the level of CIMT,all subjects were divided into carotid intima-media normal group(normal group)87 cases,carotid intima-media thickening group(thickening group)74 cases,including mild thickening group 34 cases,severe thickening group 40 cases.In groups of subjects all did carotid ultrasonography to determine the level of CIMT,and determined the fasting plasma glucose(FPG),triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein(HDL-C),insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR),serum HCY and NSE levels and other indicators.All the date were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 statistical software.The measurement data was expressed as mean ± standard deviation(x ± s),between the two groups compared with the t test.The count data was expressed as a number of cases,between the groups compared with chi-square test.Multivariate statistical analysis used multiple linear regression analysis and nonconditional logistic regression analysis.Results 1 The sex composition between the two groups showed no statistical difference by the chi-square test.2 Between the two groups DBP,TG,HDL-C,Fins levels showed no statistical difference by the t test.3 The age,duration,BMI,SBP,FPG,TC,LDL-C,UA,Hb A1 c,CRP,HOMA-IR and CRP levels of thickening group were larger than the normal group,which had statistical difference.4 The level of serum HCY in the thickening group was higher than that in the normal group,and increased with the degree of thickening,the difference was statistically significant.When the level of serum HCY was over the normal range,the risk of carotid intima-media thickening of T2 DM patients increased 3.17 times.5 The level of serum NSE in the thickening group was higher than that in the normal group,and increased with the degree of thickening,the difference was statistically significant.When the level of NSE was over the normal range,the risk of carotid intima-media thickening of T2 DM patients increased 5.91 times.6 The t test and chi-square test statistically significant variables as independent variables,the level of CIMT as the dependent variable to continue the multiple linear regression analysis.The results showed serum HCY,NSE was positively correlated with the level of CIMT of T2 DM patients.7 The t test and chi-square test statistically significant variables as independent variables,whether to complicated with carotid intima-media thickening as the dependent variable to continue the non conditional logistic regression analysis.The results showed serum HCY,NSE was positively correlated with the carotid intima-media thickening of T2 DM patients.Conclusions 1 The level of serum HCY was associated with the carotid intima-media thickening in T2 DM patients.The level of serum HCY increased,the risk of carotid intima-media thickening in T2 DM patients increased.2 The level of serum NSE was associated with the carotid intima-media thickening in T2 DM patients.The level of serum NSE increased,the risk of carotid intima-media thickening in T2 DM patients increased. |
