Objective: To investigate Interleukin-1?(IL-1?)levels in crevice fluid around microscrew anchorage, and some clinical indexes to explore whether low level laser irritation can prevent peri-implantitis.Methods: 40 patients were divided into experimental group and control group by randomized controlled principle. They all pulled out the first premolar and implanted mini-screws,which developed to ensure complete orthodontic anchorage, between the second premolar and the first molar on the buccal sides in order to retract anterior teeth to the maximum degree. In experimental group, the patients were taken oral hygiene instruction and irradiated low level laser on tissue around the implants for 1 minute on the 0d,third day,7th day,14 th day after surgery.Apply the same method to irradiate the tissure around implants every month until take off the micro-implants.Patients in the control group were given oral health education only without laser irradiation. We observed and recorded the cases of MIA(Micro implant)loosening,peri-implantitis,and PLI(plaque index),m BI(modification sulcus bleeding index)and PD(probing depth)on 1 week,4 week and 12 week after operation.Crevice fluid around microscrews anchorage were collected,at 1 week,4 week, and 12 week after implantation to test the level of IL-1? by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. The data were performed in statistical analysis by Spss 17.0.Results: 1.Plaque index, gingival sulcus bleeding index and improved diagnosis depth in the experimental group were lower than the control group, the differences had statistically significant(p<0.05).2.The number of peri-implantitis and loosening cases in the experimental group was 1;in the control group were 2 cases and 3 cases respectively. The experimental group was less than that in the control group, the difference was not statistical significance(p> 0.05).3.The concentration of IL-1? in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group(p<0.05).Conclusions: Low-level laser therapy associated with oral hygiene instruction were noticed to induce the rate of peri-implantitis in orthodontic.Low-level laser therapy may be a supplementary treatment method to increase the stability of the mini-screw.
