Hysterical blindness is mental illness without organic lesion.Brain injury and brain abnormalities are closely related to the pathema.The pathogenesis is complex and changeable,and there is not much objective evidence.The clinical diagnosis of the disease mainly depends on the subjective judgment of the doctor,which is easy to cause misdiagnosis.There are few studies on the characteristics of hysteria blindness EEG,and also few analyses focus on the correlations between brain regions.The research of hysteria mechanism is conducive to understanding the pathological mechanism of the disease.Clinical diagnosis and treatment could be assisted.According to the principle that brain work with different neural circuits to achieve interaction,the paper puts forward a new method to analyze the abnormal brain functionality and locate the abnormal area based on complex network theory.65 groups of 16 leads normal and hysteria blindness EEG data are processed in experiment.Denoising and rhythm extracting are processed by wavelet method.Combined kurtosis characteristics of full EEG and rhythm are calculated between every combined channel pair by using a sliding window Fast ICA algorithm based on negative entropy maximization.Combined kurtosis characteristics are normalized to quantitate the correlation between the brain net nodes.Hysteria blindness brain functional networks,which consist of EEG electrodes,are constructed by threshold the correlation between net nodes.The study investigates several network measurements.A lower small-world coefficient and lower cost as well as higher efficiency are found in hysteria blindness patients as compared to healthy controls.Further research on node betweenness,node efficiency and node vulnerability help to locate the anomaly brain area.It is demonstrated that electrodes O1 and O2,corresponding to the occipital lobe,are indicated as dysfunction area.And electrodes C3,C4,P3,P4 corresponding to the parietal lobe,and T4,T6 corresponding to the right posterior temporal lobe,are indicated as abnormal area.In addition,the reason of hysteria blindness is discussed with the theory of brain science and clinical research.In order to verify the the validity of kurtosis feature,the brain function network analysis based on mutual information is used.The experimental results show that there is no significant difference in cost and efficiency analysis between normal and hysteria blindness brain functional network.In this method,the brain dysfunction area is located in the left occipital lobe of the electrode O1 and the abnormal brain area is located in the right occipital lobe of the electrode O2 and left parietal lobe of the electrode P3,temporal lobe abnormalities and the hidden information of hysteria are not detected.In order to verify the superiority of the brain function network analysis,we use the EEG topographic map to compare the experimental method.In this method,disturbance area is localized to occipital lobe of the electrode O1,O2,and abnormal area is localized to the right parietal lobe of the electrode C4,P4 and the right posterior temporal lobe of the electrode T4,T6.It is not detected to the right parietal lobe abnormalities,lacking of brain connection considerations.Two comparative experiments show that the method is reasonable and effective.
