Chemical Constituents From The Seeds Of Euocmmia Ulmoides Oliv

Duzhong(Eucommia Ulmoides Oliv),was called Sizhong,Sixian,is a perennial deciduous tree species,which is the unique plant of our country.It is widely planted and distributed in Hubei,Yunnan,Hunan,Shaanxi and any other places.Bark of Eucommia ulmoides was mainly used as the medicine,with nourishing liver and kidney,reinforcing bones and other effects.In this paper,the overview of resource,chemical composition and pharmacological effects of Eucommia ulmoides were summarized.The main chemical constituents of Eucommia ulmoides were iridoid compounds,and some of them had significant hypotensive,anti-cancer and other biological activities.We selected the seeds of Eucommia ulmoides as the materials in this paper,and 90%ethanol-water was extracted at room temperature after small-scale tests.Silica gel,macroporous resin,MCI-CHP20P,Sephadex LH-20 dextran gel and other column chromatography method was used to separate compounds.TLC and HPLC analysis was used in the whole experimental process.Twenty-two compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate layer,and fifteen structures were identified by chemical and spectroscopic method.They are geniposide acid,bartsioside,aucubin,eucommioside,chlorogenic acid,phthalic acid dibutyl ester,o-phthalic acid bis-(2-ethyl decyl)-ester,o-phthalic acid bis-(7-ethyl-2-hydroxyethyl decyl)-ester,caffeic acid,ursolic acid,belulic acid,belulin,daucosterol,helibractinecine and a carbohydrate compounds.The result of this study will leave significance for the study of biological activity.
