Objective: Investigating the contamination of the high frequency contact surfaces and the hosipital infection in ICU,to analysis the different levels of pollution of high frequency contact surfaces and the factors that lead to nosocomial infection.Using a new type method of surface cleaning and disinfection in our intensive care unit(ICU).This study is to evaluate the effect of the new type method of surface cleaning and disinfection on health-care associated infections(HAIs)reduction.Methods: By using a separated cleaning bed unit method in April 2016 to September 2016,a new type method of cleaning and disinfection for surface was performed,including:regular education and training for medical staff;mop,rag,one use,cleaned by washer(one step for cleaning,decontamination,and disinfection);disposable sterilized wipes were used to decontaminate and disinfect after using armarium;increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfection for the high frequency contact surface;monitored regularly on the quality of cleaning and disinfection by microbial sampling and fluorescence labeling.Collect information before and after intervention,the chi-square test was performed and SPSS 18.0 was used for statistical analysis.P <0.05 for the difference was statistically significant.Results: By using an active screening on ICU patients,microbial sampling and monitoring,fluorescence labeling,and other methods of surface cleaning and disinfection was effect on the HAIS reduction and surface cleaning in ICU,The qualified rate offluorescent labeling was increased from 41.00% to 80.17%,the detection rate of MDR-Ab was decreased from 30.86% to 6.03%,and the qualified rate of microbial sampling and monitoring was increased from 56.79% to 86.47%,the hand hygiene compliance increased from 66.06% to 82.83%,and the ICU hospital infection rate decreased from 8.59% to 6.52%,compared with pre-intervention,the results were statistically significant.Conclusions: New type method of surface cleaning and disinfection can effectively prevent hospital infection;and significantly improved the cleanliness of ICU environmental surfaces.;effectively improved the cleaning staff and medical workers in the environment clean and hand hygiene compliance too.
