Objective: To investigate the expression of aromatase,5?-Red1 and androgen receptor in endometrial cancer, sections from patients with endometrial cancer were evaluated by immunohistochemistry(IHC).To investigate the difference between the experimental group and the control group and correlation between the expression of these three proteins, the data were analyzed. Methods: Immunohistochemical two-step method was used to detect the expression of aromatase,5?-reductase type 1 and androgen receptor in 54 cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma(experimental group)and 30 cases of normal endometrial tissue(control group). The optical density of the stained slices was measured by Image-Pro Plus 6.0 professional image analysis software and the double-semi-quantitative method was used to score(where score ? 2 points was positive,<2 was negative). And all the data were statistically analyzed by professional statistical software SPSS 19.0.Results: The optical density of aromatase in the experimental group was significant higher than that in the control group(t = 2.184,p = 0.032),and the positive expression rate was significantly higher as 98.1%(53/54)compared with the control group as 60%(18/30)(?2 = 21.456,p <0.001).The positive expression rate of 5?-reductase type 1 was 94.4%(51/54)in endometrial carcinoma and 43.33%(13/30)in normal endometrium, the difference was statistically significant(?2= 27.773,P <0.001);The optical density of 5?-reductase type 1 in the experimental group, the control group, was significantly different(t = 2.322,P = 0.032).The positive expression rate of androgen receptor in the experimental group was 96.3%(52/54),93.33%(28/30)in the control group.the difference was not statistically significant(?2 = 1.366,P = 0.243).the optical density of androgen receptor in the experimental group and the control group was not significantly different(t= 0.808,P = 0.422).There were no significant differences in the expression of 5?-reductase type 1,aromatase and androgen receptor in differentiated endometrial carcinoma tissues. Conclusion: 1,the expression of aromatase in endometrial carcinoma was significantly higher than that in the control group, indicating that the development of most endometrial carcinoma was related to the high level of estrogen, which was consistent with that reported in the literature.2,The high expression of 5?-reductase type 1 in the experimental group, suggesting that the level of dihydrotestosterone in endometrial carcinoma may be higher, indirectly, androgen plays an important role in the development of endometrial cancer, for the future study of the pathogenesis of endometrial cancer to provide some reference.3,due to the small number of samples of this study, only from the immunohistochemical aspects of the initial exploration, the lack of large / multi-center data support, there is further study need for support.
