Objective: To explore the risk factors of limb muscle weakness after surgical treatment in surgical resection functional area.Methods: The clinical data of 63 patients with functional meningiomas who underwent surgical resection were retrospectively analyzed from February 2002 to May 2016 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University.According to the criteria of muscle strength score,The factors of gender,age,tumor size,preoperative peritumoral edema,preoperative seizures,postoperative seizures,and operative time were analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis.,The amount of bleeding,whether the secondary surgery,diabetes,high blood pressure,whether in the sinus,postoperative intracranial infection and other factors.Results: Univariate analysis showed that age(X2 = 5.641,P = 0.018),tumor size(X2 = 4.986,P = 0.028),operation time(X2 = 3.994,P = 0.045),gender(X2 = 0.316,P = 0.384(X2 = 0.056,P = 0.23),preoperative epilepsy(X2= 0.261,P = 0.411),postoperative epilepsy(X2 = 1.130,P = 0.254),the amount of bleeding(X2 = 1.159,(X2 = 0.644),diabetes mellitus(X2 = 1.039,P = 0.289),hypertension(X2 = 0.384,P = 0.378),whether it was in the sinus(X2 = 0.079,P = 0.499),whether intracranial infection(X2 = 0.038,P = 0.669).Compare the difference between these factors is statistically significant.Logistic regression analysis showed that the above factors showed age ?60 years(OR = 4.017,P =0.023),tumor ? 4cm(OR = 4.335,P = 0.032),which was related to the decrease of muscle strength after functional meningiomas.Conclusion: Age ?60 years old and tumor ? 4cm is a risk factor for postoperative limb muscle weakness.
