Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and the safety of Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction treating patients with MODS and Gastrointestinal Dysfunction.Methods: 60 patients with MODS and Gastrointestinal Dysfunction who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.Patients who belonged to the control group were treated by conventional western medicine,while the treatment group were treated by Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction and western medicine.We observed the clinical efficacy of two groups.Results: The total effective rate of treatment group is 79.31% whereas the control group is 64.29%.The efficiency of the two groups was compared,p=0.663,p>0.05,There was no significant difference in the curative effect of the two groups,The efficacies of two groups are basically the same disease.The total syndromes' s effective rate of treatment group is 82.76%.The control group is 50.00%.Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction has a good advantage in improving the clinical symptoms of patients with MODS and Gastrointestinal Dysfunction.The patients with normal safety index before treatment did not appear abnormal after the treatment.Those who had abnormal safety index before the treatment did not appear to worsen the situation after treatment.Conclusion: Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction could improve the clinical symptoms of MODS and Gastrointestinal Dysfunction,it is safe for patients.
